You can walk to the village in 15-20 minutes over flat roads. -

Close GalleryThe pool measures 12 m x 6 m with a depth of 0.9 m to 1.6 m. It is heated from mid-June to mid-September and the water is treated by salt electrolysis. To the right you see the covered terrace with large outdoor table. -

From the centre of the village walk up to see the vestiges of the medieval town: ramparts, ancient clock tower, windmill and chapel perched on top of the hill. Outside the town you can see the St. Sixte Chapel and the Alchemist's Garden. -

The origin of the word “Eygalières” is the Latin AQUALERIA, place that collects water. Roman towns needed huge amounts of water, so in order to provide enough water to the important nearby Roman town of Arles, “the Gauls’ little Rome,” the abundant waters of AQUALERIA
were sent by a mostly underground aqueduct to Arles. -

Eygalières has several wineries so you will enjoy trying these wines with meals or as an aperitif. Their rosés are especially good. You may even enjoy visiting a few wineries near by, or elsewhere.
The famous Southern Côtes-du-Rhône vineyards of Chateauneuf are only 45 minutes away, and Gigondas, Cairannne, Vacqueryas and Beaumes-de-Venise just a little farther.
The Ventoux appellation, centered on the Mont Ventoux of Tour de France fame, has a lot of vineyards; try Domaine Chaumard in Caromb, or the Domaine du Bon Remède and Domaine de Fondrechè, both in Mazan. The Mont Ventoux area is really the "countryside" with small wineries dotted around, and charming little bistros where you can have a relaxing lunch in the shadow of the "Giant of Provence. -

Close GalleryThe farm kitchen is a cook's dream. The owners are serious foodies, so the kitchen is very well equipped. The large oak farm table seats 10 people. There is an electric AGA cooker, with and additional AGA fired only in winter months. You will find a dishwasher, microwave, and Nespreso coffee maker. There is a back kitchen with fridge, freezer, washing machine, clothes dryer, ice cube maker, ironing board and iron. -

Beyond the salon is a daybed, and then the farm kitchen. The stone spiral staircase in the back on the right leads to the bedrooms. -
