The Le Petit Jardins d'Eygalieres is part of a superb Provencal country property in the exquisite village of Eygalières, sleeping 6 people in 3 en-suite bedrooms, each with WC. The estate itself is quite beautiful with an olive grove, gardens, a large solar-heated pool, tennis court, and views on the Alpilles. It is located on a quiet road about 3 km (1.8 mi) from the center of the village, a quick drive or a 30 min walk.
The entire property is composed of two buildings, the main 6 bedroom 6 bath mas and a guest house with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. They can be rented together by the same party, or independently, one at a time. The owners do not have two separate groups at the same time.
This listing refers only to the 3 bedroom guest house. The guest house is air-conditioned. There is a large (20m * 8 m) solar-heated pool, pool house, and a private tennis court.
The 2 hectare—5 acre-- gardens include a Japanese zen garden with a waterfall, ponds, and bamboo; a rose garden with different varieties that last during the entire season and into fall; lots of maple trees; an amphitheater facing the Alpilles, a wonderful spot for weddings or events.
The small village of Eygalières is a real jewel in the area. Though tiny, it has cafés, restaurants, food shops, and one of the best outdoor markets in Provence, held Friday mornings.
This small village is home to well-heeled vacationers, as well as to French film and tv stars and other high wattage glitterati. (To give you an idea of the prestige of this little village, European royals live and visit here.) However the town has retained its low-key, old style ambiance, which is one reason it is so attractive to visitors.
Eygalières has some interesting historical sites. From the center of the village walk up to see the vestiges of the medieval town: ramparts, ancient clock tower, windmill and
chapel perched on top of the hill. Outside the town you can see the St. Sixte Chapel and the Alchemist's Garden.
Sorry, no pets. The owner has 2 very friendly dogs on the property that the caretaker and gardener look after.
Just 10 minutes drive from St. Rémy de Provence, Eygalières is a haven of tranquillity with lots of class and charm.
Designated as one of the most beautiful villages in France, Eygalières is where many celebrities spend pleasant, undisturbed holidays, far from the paparazzi on the coast. Located on the edge of the Alpilles (the little Alps of Provence), Eygalières offers fantastic views of sublime rocky outcroppings. Surrounded by farmland, olive and fruit orchards, Eygalières is a quiet and charming community made up of artists, farmers and tradesmen alike.
The main street has everything you could want from a small village and more: a collection of superb restaurants, bistros, mini markets, beauty salons, speciality wine shops, an art gallery and several eclectic cafés. The village runs its own market every Friday.
