As the house was designed as a holiday home and given the region we're in, traditional style/architecture was a must and plenty of covered outdoor areas very important.
One of the great pleasures of life in Provence is al dente dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner .... and on into the wee small hours! 'L'Amarine' has a superb old-style farmers table and rattan armchairs on the dining end of the terrace and adjacent to both the outdoor summer and the indoor kitchen.
A well established garden, every season bringing new growth, colour, shape and aromas. 'L'Amarine' was built in 2003 by French owners who live in the north.....not often known for it's sunshine! So Provence was their choice, emphasis on both indoor and outdoor comforts, as family holidays, summer or winter, are precious and creature comforts essential!
The summer kitchen is well equipped with a gas plaque, charcoal bbq, sink and plenty of outdoor utensils.
The indoor eat-in kitchen is large, well equipped and divided from the dining and lounge area by a half wall or bar. So whoever is elected to be chef for the evening can create culinary masterpieces whilst joining in the conversation.
The terraces are furnished with a melange of rattan armchairs, reclining leisure chairs and side tables. The ever creeping wisteria and the cannise/cane shade cover are a wonderful natural addition and aesthetic.
Indoor dining is at the stone topped iron table in the open-plan dining area, adjacent to the kitchen and the lounge. With large glass double doors leading to the terrace and garden beyond, the views, the light and the spaciousness are superb.
Should your holidays be during the cooler months, evenings around the wood burning fire, sipping one of the many good reds from the local vineyards....are sublime! Comfy sofas, good music, great company.....excellent ingredients!
For those experiencing the pleasure of summer in Provence, the entire house is air-conditioned for your comfort.

St Remy de Provence
St Remy de Provence is perhaps the most beautiful small town in Provence. Post World War II, it was an agricultural area, specializing in flower seeds and sheep, but now is known as a sophisticated country town with some of the best Provence has to offer, and with a wonderful, central location.
There are many sites in St Rémy: the very important Roman ruins at Glanum; the rue Hoche, a tiny street where French-Jewish doctor and astronomer Nostradamus was born in 1503. Don’t forget the colorful Wednesday market which is well known all over Provence. Vincent van Gogh spent most of the last year of his life here, at the St.Paul de Maussole Clinic, and painted over 150 paintings.
