The Mas du Cheval Blanc is located just outside the Provencal town of St Remy, about 2.5 km from the center. The house is a 19th century house, totally redone after leaving only the interior and exterior stonework. The pristine interior is modern, so you get a lovely “mélange” (mix) of old and new at this property, which was just finished in summer 2016. The house is air-conditioned, has wifi and allows pets.
The villa is located on a landscaped 0.8 hectare (2 acres) property; the grounds are enclosed and are full of trees, bushes, and flowers; you get a great view of the property from inside the house looking out. There is a pool, and you can request that the pool be heated.
The downstairs has two sitting rooms (a summer and a winter room with a fireplace,) as well as the kitchen/dining area and laundry. The entire house is done in travertine marble so it is not only beautiful but keeps cool.
The villa has 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms. Beds are 180 cm (U.S. king size.) All bedrooms have views onto the garden.
There are 8 bikes, and you have access to a private parking spot in town when you do your shopping or go out to dinner so no struggling to find a place or figure out French parking meters.
The owners are great hosts; they meet you, and provide tons of information about the town and the area—shopping, restaurants, and more. They are always available if you have any questions or problems. They sincerely are interested in helping you have a memorable stay in Provence.

St-Rémy-de-Provence is perhaps the most beautiful small town in Provence. Post World War II, it was an agricultural area, specialising in flower seeds and sheep, but now is known as a sophisticated country town with some of the best local commerce Provence has to offer, and with a wonderful, central location.
There are many sites in St Rémy: the very important Roman ruins at Glanum; the rue Hoche, a tiny street where French-Jewish doctor and astronomer Nostradamus was born in 1503. Don’t forget the colourful Wednesday market which is well known all over Provence. Vincent van Gogh spent most of the last year of his life here, at the St.Paul de Maussole Clinic, and painted over 150 paintings.
