Facing West, the house boasts two spacious verandas which provide mottled sunlight bringing relief from the midday heat. The garden surrounds the house providing security and privacy. The area is very calm. The interior is tastefully furnished, the owner clearly having an eye for detail. The terra cotta tiles give a truly mediterranean feel.
The heated swimming pool is 1.5 metres deep throughout, with Roman steps in two corners making it very accessible to the mobility impaired. The second terrace is accessed by a ramp, so wheelchair friendly, but there are two steps to be negotiated to get down to the pool area. Unfortunately there are no bedrooms on the ground floor, although there is a shower room and separate WC.
The new lawned area, gated both from the drive and the pool area, is ideal for small children to play in safety and comfort. Automatically watered, this area is guaranteed to remain lush all summer long.
The beautiful 10 x 4 metre heated swimming pool soaks up the suns rays to ensure a water temperature of approximately 27 degrees centrigrade at all times during the summer season. The pool is completely fenced in for the protection of children.
A late evening shot with the pool lights shining and the summer house ready to play host to the evening meal. The pool house is also the ideal place to lounge around the pool if you don't want to be burnt to a frazzle.
The lounge/sitting room is a light, cool, and usually quiet area where you can relax and read in comfort. For those important telly moments, there is the large flat screen TV. The internet is broadband and the wifi signal is good throughout the ground floor of the house and on the first terrace. The TV picks up Freesat channels, so everything you would expect if you were at home. It also picks up digital French TV if you're ready for a cultural experience or you just want to polish your French! Two bookcases offer an excellent choice of popular reading.
Les Oliviers has been prepared for all year round living. This lounge, for example, has the 'insert' type fireplace, and it also has a stand-up Godin stove keeping the place warm during the winter months. With two small ski stations on the Mont Ventoux, more and more people are seeing this as an ideal, inexpensive winter getaway.
The dining room has french windows which look out onto the 10 x 4 metre heated swimming pool. It's a good place to keep an eye on the kids whilst taking a break from the midday heat. The entire pool area is enclosed by lockable security fencing for the protection of the younger children.
All bedrooms are found on the first floor. This twin bedded room is light and airy with attractive views. All bedrooms are air conditioned. Linen and towels are provided, (except for pool towels) and there's a washing machine in the utility room. No dryer, as things dry on the line in no time in Provence.
Please note that an extra charge of 100€ is payable to the owner upon arrival for the 'end of stay' cleaning.
