Next to the swimming pool in the outer garden you have this studio which boasts a 160 cm double bedded room and an en-suite shower room. Perfect for a couple who want that little bit more independence or where mobility is an issue.
The interior of the property has been finished with a great deal of care, and as you might expect, they continue to improve the property year on year. The furnishings in the house are interesting, seeming to tell a story about the history of the family and their travelling experiences.
The heated swimming pool measures 8 x 3.5 metres with an extra square metre for the Roman steps leading into the pool. The depth changes from 1.50 to 1.90 metres, but remains 1.50 around the edge for children's protection.
To the left of the pool there are a line of Platane trees providing shade (much better than sun umbrellas), and the other side of the pool is reserved for sun worshippers. Lots of sun loungers are provided for your comfort.
The large, inviting and elegant sitting room has a triple and a double sofa plus two large pouffes to put your feet up. There's a telly, but the younger ones can watch TV in the day room on the first floor. This room also has a dining table, just in case.
This is the en-suite master bedroom on the first floor, boasting a 180cm double bed. The room is very spacious, with a sofa, writing table and antique furniture. The colour scheme is mauve, with 'off white' walls. Very soft and welcoming. From this room you can descend a few steps directly into the outer garden pool area.
Fronted by an attractive cast iron door and windows the light floods in. There's a small library, but most of the books are French. There's also a fridge in this room which is very practical if you want to prepare the aperitif to enjoy around the pool.
The day room is just perfect for kids. There's the snooker table to keep them entertained, plus satellite TV, DVD and a piano. There's also a small library, but the books tend to be French. This room can be separated from the ground floor by French sliding windows which act as great sound proofing.
The courtyard is a warm, inviting, green, comfortable environment ideal for dining alfresco. You also have the small lawned area
which is ideal for small children to play safely and indeed for a towel to be thrown down so you can sun bathe.
There is a large table and a built-in barbecue under the covered area where meals can be prepared and consumed.
The kitchen is just the other side of the courtyard, so very convenient.
Emotional Escapes presents Mas de Mournier, a splendid mas offering luxury rental accommodation in Robion, Provence, sleeps 10.
Mas de Mournier can be counted in the category of property that offers the best of both worlds in respect of location. It's a village house, with all that has to offer in terms of local amentities, but once inside the property you enjoy total privacy, at all times of the day and night.
When staying in this luxury rental, you are aware that you're in a village because you can see rooftops over the tall hedges, but that's about all. You're not over-looked, whether you're by the heated pool or in the lovely courtyard. This is an ideal compromise of location and convenience.
Mas des Mourniers was featured in one of our blog posts which you can read here.
Robion was once a fortified hilltop village, further protected by the cliffs behind. Today, a walk around the back and over the top will take you along ancient cobblestone lanes and through arched gateways. The top of the ancient village is still protected by parts of the ancient defensive walls. In the center is an old fountain with a covered column that was once a well, surrounded by a tight circle of plane trees and a ring of stone benches.
The old village has retained its charm and although its a tiny village with few commodities other than a café, it does possess an outdoor theater during the summertime.
