Luxury villa to rent in Graveson

Mas Neuf de Graveson, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence - Sleeps 12

Luxury farmhouse with 6 bedrooms for 12+ guests in Provence

The Mas Neuf de Graveson is rustic country house, created from a restored 17th century mill. The main farmhouse has 4 bedrooms, all en-suite; there are two additional bedrooms, also en-suite. The property is located in the Provencal countryside, yet close to Châteaurenard, Maillane, and the busy village of St-Rémy-de-Provence.

There is a large pool and pool house, a pétanque court, and a beautiful huge garden with a small stream running through it and under the farmhouse.

Ancient structures in Provence had very thick walls, reducing the need for air con. In Provence we close the shutters in the daytime to keep the sun and heat out, and then open in the evening until morning.

Sorry, no pets.

Châteaurenard, Alpilles, Provence, south of France

St-Rémy-de-Provence is perhaps the most beautiful small town in Provence. Post World War II, it was an agricultural area, specialising in flower seeds and sheep, but now is known as a sophisticated country town with some of the best local commerce Provence has to offer, and with a wonderful, central location.

There are many sites in St Rémy: the very important Roman ruins at Glanum; the rue Hoche, a tiny street where French-Jewish doctor and astronomer Nostradamus was born in 1503. Don’t forget the colourful Wednesday market which is well known all over Provence. Vincent van Gogh spent most of the last year of his life here, at the St.Paul de Maussole Clinic, and painted over 150 paintings.
