We were eating cherrys off the trees everyday.
The facilities are excellent comfortable and with a feeling of luxury and there are also a couple of good restaurants nearby all in all brilliant!!

Mas l'Arlésienne review

We stayed in Mas l'Arlésienne from 7 June to 14 June 2014. We were a group of 7 adults and the comfort and spaciousness of the charming farmhouse added to the success of our holiday. We spent most of... Read more our days exploring St-Rémy-de-Provence, which is an easy fifteen minutes walk from the house and we also visited other towns like Le Baux-de-Provence, Arles, Aix-en-Provence and Avignon by car. We enjoyed visiting the Wednesday market at St Rémy where we bought fresh fruit, vegetables and Norwegian salmon to take "home" and we loved having supper at the outside table, with the view of the olive and cypress trees in the garden and in the distance, the limestone massif of Les Alpilles.

We were lucky enough to experience a magical full moon and it felt like we were looking at a Van Gogh painting with the cypress trees turning blue- back under the starry night. One of our highlights was a walk to the Clinique St Paul where Van Gogh spent time as a patient in 1889 after he cut his ear.

The 12th century cloisters, the lavender garden in the grounds and the many reproductions of Van Gogh's famous paintings, made this outing very special. It was always good to go home to our beautiful, french farmhouse after a long hot day and to cool off in pool and relax on the comfortable chairs with sundowners.

If we ever go back to Provence, Mas l'Arlésienne will be where we would love to stay again. Close

The wonderful spaces to suit each mood or eather condition lent themselves to many delicious meals at home using the fabulous produce attained in the local markets, particularly at Coustellet. The tastiest cherries, strawberries, melons, broad beans - where does one stop? Our morning walks up to Bonnieux to fetch fresh baguettes and croissants for breakfast, were invigorating and eased the conscience after many evenings of superb food and wine. We had the most perfect weather, used the pool frequently and wore out the boule court. Thank you. We hope to be back! Close
