Close GalleryA view of Lacoste from the garden. The château on the hilltop, now owned by couturier Pierre Cardin, was once owned by the notorious Marquis de Sade. Unfortunately the Marquis didn't get to spend too much time here since he was imprisoned for his writings by French authorities. Mr. Cardin has also purchased many of the houses in the village--which now displeases many villagers-- and owns a bakery/pizza shop.

Close GalleryThis is the spectacular view of the property as seen from the village. Once home to veteran landscape designer Alex Dingwall-Main, who not only designed the garden but also wrote several books while at the property including The Luberon Garden, The Angel Tree and The Vine Garden, the house has featured in numerous interior decorating publications including Dream Homes Country book and the OKA magazine. More recently the garden has been managed by Tim Rees, a colleague of Rosemary Verey.
