Enjoying recent fame for being the site of the wine domain bought by Russell Crowe's character in Ridley Scott's big-screen adaptation of Peter Mayle's 'A Good Year', Bonnieux has long been a favourite of those who know and love the real Provence. Bonnieux is a lively little village that has plenty going on all year round.
A new lavender field has been planted on the property this year (just out of sight to the left) and will bloom in late June through July, with highlights of lavender subtly placed throughout the garden.
The kitchen is fully equipped with two dishwashers, two fridges, two ovens and two sets of hobs - gas and induction, so you'll be able to cook copious Provençal dishes to your heart's content - or you can hire the services of a professional chef, who's bound to have fun here too! There is even a semi-professional worktop with lots of storage and work space for your comfort.
The magnificent, well-kempt garden bursts into different colours throughout the year. Outdoor living is absolutely glorious here, with not a house in sight and the view stretching out for miles over the cedar forest.
The master even has its own open fireplace and a small indoor terrace looking out over the grounds and the Cedar Forest. This picture was taken in the early evening in February - just imagine waking up to this view in the height of summer!
The master suite's bathroom is furnished to a very high standard with its stone design and warm feel. There is also a separate bathtub in its own little nook (not pictured here) with a large bay window overlooking the front terrace, the garden and the lavender field.
This ground-floor corridor leads to the fitness room, a utility room with extra appliances, and this dorm bedroom, which has three single beds as well as a high-comfort sofa bed for a total capacity of 5. It also has own shower room.
Shown here is a cosy suite with a double bed, tucked away behind the library - its has a small, en-suite shower room. All the bath/shower rooms at Mas de Florettes are designed to sophisticated hotel standards with stone basins and large shower heads.
In the grounds just around the house there are two "bories" (traditional Luberon stone dwellings) that can be lit up at night for a most stunning effect. A great effort has been made on the outdoor lighting all around the property and sitting areas like this one make for perfect evenings in these conditions.
