Mormoiron, like Bédoin and other Luberon villages is situated in an ochre rich area. Its rich colouring can be seen on many houses but also in the surrounding countryside.


Mormoiron is a small traditional Provençal village, near Carpentras. The village has narrow lanes, numerous covered passageways and beautiful old fountains. The steady temperate climate (not too hot in summer) offers some great possibilities for hikers. There are five waymarked trails in the area. Maps are available from the tourist office.
It is mainly known for its Côtes-du-Ventoux vineyards. It offers all the commodities you'd expect from such a village, including mini market, restaurant and cafes.

It is noteworthy that the village hosts two museums, one is the Mechanical Music Museum, and the other is the Museum of Archeology and Palaentology.

Market day is Tuesday although from April through to December there is an additional market on Sunday.

The Gorges de la Nesque, just a few minutes from Mormoiron, is a natural wonder worth exploring.
