The property is perched on a hillside and surrounded by mature pine trees, making it difficult to photograph as a unit. This picture shows the back of the villa (which you can drive up to) and you can just see the swimming pool over the privacy wall.
The main building of the villa surrounds a wonderfully serene courtyard to three sides, the fourth opening out to the garden, the view and the special Provençal light so cherished by artists over the years.
The summer kitchen is a real favourite with guests at la Clairette. With full cooking facilities, plenty of shade and plenty of seating, this is an ideal place to dine al fresco if it's just too hot under the pergola in the courtyard.
The living areas form part of the same spacious room, with kitchen at one end and the sitting area the other side of the dining table. From here you can walk directly out to the pool one one side or into the serene courtyard on the other.
Up to the first floor, this area actually has two double bedrooms separated by a hallway and the en-suite bathroom. There is no door between these rooms so it tends to be used by the younger members of the party or by just one couple who can arrange things so they have a private sitting room in one of the areas.
